Since time is also constricted today, I'm going to make this one short. Still rambling, but shorter then the last two
Amazing Actors
Celebraties on screen are mostly made up of singers or/and actors. However are the actors themselves professionals when it comes to acting? What is the key of acting?
In every one of us, generally there is two or three "selves".
- Resident self (the self at home)
- Public self (the self you show to other people whom you don't know)
- Modeled self (the self you show to your friends, the self you WANTED to be known by)
It can be more depending on your profession, country laws or mental problems.
You are acting all most of the time. The Public and Modeled self are all acted, while the resident self is the true self. However, if you have kids or other people in your house who is living with you, your resident self doesn't surface until you reach to your bedroom. With that said, shouldn't acting be alot easier then? Acting itself isn't a difficult thing, but we are generally constricted by fear, limiting our potential. We fear what we are presenting, we fear what others will think of us, or how we think of ourselves once it hit the screen or stage. That fear can otherwise be known as "shyness" (well...according to the psycology books, basically every negative emotion is due to shyness... and when they say to stop your shyness by following a certain process, they are actually contradicting themselves... I'll get to it another time). Although it's impossible to take away those fear, experience will lessen the fear.
With that established, we can already conclude what is the foundation of good acting: courage. Imagination and techniques helps alot too, but if you don't have the courage, how are you going to presented it?
However, this then brings us to the original question: are Celebraties professional actors?
After watching a few new film, I notice that it takes alot more than "amazing actors" to get on TV. It's the same with singers these days too! I find many talented actors, singers and comedians on the net, who gives me the chilled feelings, yet those on TV don't. From the top of my head, I can name a few actors and singers on youtube who has more talent then those on films.
So in the end, in order to be a celebraty, is it about the acting, or is it simply the luck of being raised by a producer? In other words, the so called "camera face"?.
-Wow compared to the last two, this is alot better. I actually kept with a topic for once!
